2023 Mission Trip - Phoenix, AZ

We are back home in MN! Thank you for the prayers for safe travels and for following our mission trip journey!

Hey friends! Today was supposed to be our last day in AZ, but God had some other plans. A Denver storm has cancelled our flight and we cannot get out until tomorrow morning. Please pray for safe travels! However, we had an amazing morning. We went up the mountain to a CrossWalk member’s house where we wrote out thank you cards to the 5K race runners and soaked in the sunshine in the hot tub. We ended our morning with a trip to In-N-Out! Thank you all in advance for your prayers for our safe arrival home!

Hello friends and family up north!! Today we’ve been soaking in our last full Arizona day. The majority of the day was spent in Sedona. We were surrounded by the beautiful red rock formations framed by a crystal clear blue sky. Sedona reminded me of home for three reasons: the familiar pine trees among the cactuses, the chilly air, and (sadly) the snow. We thought we escaped it, but it managed to hunt us down. Highlights of our Sedona outing were the beautiful hike, the delicious brewery food, and the boys’ matching pink outfits. They were so fly, the cop pulled over to compliment them. Make sure to look for them in the slideshow, you can’t miss ‘em! We’ll see ya soon!   We worshipped this morning at the CrossWalk Midtown location and we enjoyed Pastor Chris’s message! Emily and Peyton also sang with the Praise Band and helped to lead worship in that way. We even met up with a former SCLA teacher, Mr. Burmeister! We have had so much fun getting to know all the members at CrossWalk Midtown!

  We had tons of fun helping with the Glow Run 5K and we can’t wait for you to see our video!

This morning we helped set up for the Glow Run which is tonight (More pictures to come from that!) Then we hiked up South Mountain and visited a mall nearby! Please enjoy our second day recap!

We had a great start to our weekend! We worked on Glow Run Race Swag Bags in the morning and then we headed over to the local elementary school. We ate lunch there and spent a few hours with Kindergarten and 1st grade students. Finally, we toured Arizona Lutheran Academy and then headed to our host families houses.  We have landed in Phoenix! Thank you to everyone who has been messaging us with well wishes! At MSP, we got to take a couple train rides, and made it through security in plenty of time.
